4 Fashionistas Making Waves in the Music Industry

December 15, 2021

As we’ve mentioned, fashion is without a doubt art and we find it so inspiring when musicians are unafraid to express themselves through what they wear. Fashion and art go hand in hand and there are no set rules on what is “stylish.” When you wear what you naturally gravitate to, you create something special, and THAT is what resonates with others. Here are 4 artists that are known for keepin’ it fresh and are true fashionistas at heart ♡

LADY GAGA is one of the leading forces of our generation when it comes to the ideal of being unapologetically yourself and we are HERE for it. She has proven that it’s dope to be unique because who wants to wear what everyone else is wearing? She continues to deliver powerful messages through fashion and uses her platform to help others feel comfortable in her own skin. When being interviewed about her infamous meat dress at the VMAs she stated:

“If we don’t stand up for what we believe in, if we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones.”

It really is beautiful to see just how much HARRY STYLES has blossomed these past couple years. He’s breaking walls and showing that fashion isn’t defined by gender. We all gotta take a page from Harry’s book and realize that it’s okay for men to be in touch with their feminine side. In fact, it’s badass and inspiring! He’s blurring lines when it comes to gender norms and helping create a much more open-minded, loving world. In a Vogue interview Harry stated:

“I think there’s so much masculinity in being vulnerable and allowing yourself to be feminine, and I’m very comfortable with that.”

PEGGY GOU is a vibrant soul that radiates good energy on & off the stage. She’s turning heads in the techno scene not only with her European & Korean influenced music, but also with her impeccable sense of style – constantly serving bold & colorful looks. Peggy released her streetwear fashion brand ‘Kirin’ back in 2019 which is the Korean translation of ‘Giraffe’ a.k.a. her spirit animal. The lux brand really does embody her eclectic style & Korean roots from the funky patterns, elegant cuts, & traditional printed figures. The limit is the sky when it comes to Peggy Gou and she is touching the souls of people all over the globe through her music & fashion. According to Peggy:

“Style is very related to your attitude towards it. Wear it with confidence.”

BILLIE EILISH is a trail blazer that has won our hearts with her talent & taken us all on a journey of self-love & confidence. As we grow up, we fight this internal battle of insecurity and not feeling “good enough” because of traditional views on what society thinks is beautiful. Billie recently opened up in an interview with Vanity Fair about how her iconic baggy style rooted from her negative body image and that she only recently has gained the confidence to embrace her body & expand her wardrobe.

“If I wear what is comfortable, I am not a woman. If I shed the layers, I’m a s—. “I have always supported and fucked with and just loved when a woman or a man or anyone in the world feels comfortable in their skin, their body, to show just whatever they want.””

Women are constantly being ridiculed and put under a microscope as to the choices we make & what we wear. And if ya ask me, that’s a whole lotta BS. We should have the freedom to wear whatever makes us feel good, and we should always empower each other to do so. Billie is setting an example for girls all over the world and showing that fashion is for you and no one else.

We can’t wait to see all your beautiful faces at Chic N Freak and ring in the new year together! Remember to come dressed in what makes YOU feel BOMB and get ready to have a fun ass time together ♡
